A client contacted us this week with a QuickBooks reporting issue. Although not obvious, the solution is simple.
I use the Inventory Stock Status by Item report. This report may be run by item or by vendor. There is one column entitled "For Assemblies." I would like this column deleted from the report.
The next issue is the column entitled "Next Deliv." These dates are not returning the Due Date that I'm entering on the Purchase Order. How do I get them to show on this report?
Usually, I can figure out how to get these reports in the format I need, but I cannot seem to get this one figured out. Can you help me get this report changed?
In this case, our client has two problems to solve. First, he wants to remove the For Assemblies column from the report. Second, he wants the delivery dates to appear on this report. Currently, they are blank.
Hiding a Report Column
To delete a column just grab the diamond in the column header and drag it to the left of the column you want to hide. This will make it disappear. Then if you memorize this report (or add it to Favorites) the column won't be there next time.
Adding Due Dates from Purchase Orders
The Next Deliv date is confusing to many clients. It reflects the Expected Date, not the Due Date. The solution to our client's question is to customize the Purchase Order template to display and populate the Expected Date. This will then be displayed on the Inventory Stock Status by Item report.
